FAQs

Do I need prior golf experience to join the tour?

No - you don’t need any golf experience to be part of the LFG Tour. Whether you’re brand new to the game or a seasoned player, you’re welcome here. Some of our members had never played before joining and have loved the experience. Take a look at our Handicap Range for more details.

What does the membership fee cover?

Your membership fee helps cover the cost of running the tour so every event is well organised and enjoyable. It also includes access to all tour events, plus a sleeve of LFG-branded golf balls and an LFG lanyard as part of the welcome pack.

How do I register for each event?

Once you’ve signed up as a member, registering for events is easy. We share event dates and booking links ahead of time, and you can secure your spot directly through the event page in the Events Schedule section.

Can I participate in just one event, or do I need to commit to the whole season?

No - you’re free to play in as many or as few events as you like. While competing in multiple events gives you a better chance on the overall tour leaderboard, there’s no obligation to commit to the whole season.

How are players grouped during events?

We do our best to group players by skill level and preference so everyone enjoys their round. At the same time, we mix groups to help members meet new people and build the community.

Are there prizes or awards for performance on the tour?

Yes! Each event features prizes including trophies and awards for closest-to-the-pin and longest drive. The overall tour champion receives the LFG winners’ shield to celebrate their success across the season. Check out the Hall of Fame.

How does the scoring work?

We use Stableford scoring at all tour events, with handicaps capped at 36 to keep things fair across the field. Your overall tour position is based on your best three scores from the four regular events, so one bad round - or a missed event - won’t ruin your season.

What is included in the ‘Ryder Cup’ event?

The Ryder Cup event includes two rounds of golf, one night’s accommodation, breakfast, and a three-course dinner. Players are divided into two teams - Black and Gold - for a fun and social team format.

How do I stay connected with the LFG community outside of events?

We’ve got a dedicated WhatsApp community where members can chat, get updates, find event groups, and even buy or sell gear. Following us on Instagram is also a great way to stay up to date and connected.

Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend an event?

We understand plans change. Because we pay for each event in advance, refunds are only available if you cancel at least six weeks before the event date. If something unexpected comes up closer to the event, contact us - we’re happy to talk through options.

Have any other questions or feedback?

If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, head over to our Contact Us page - the LFG committee are ready to help with any questions or ideas you have.
